Welcome
The Chaplaincy provides for the religious, spiritual, pastoral, educational and social needs of the emerging community on the Greenwich Peninsula. It is for anyone on the Peninsula and the neighbouring area: businesses, residents, construction workers, visitors; indeed, anyone frequenting the Peninsula.
We are a team of religious leaders and lay people working together from a variety of different religions. We wish to promote religious harmony and understanding by raising awareness of our different religious traditions.
The Chaplains on the Peninsula site are currently working at the O2, on the Bovis Lend Lease construction site, at the food refinery, at ASDA, and for any individual or organisation working on the Peninsula (and we have also recently provided a team of chaplains for police officers in the borough).
The needs of the peninsula will change dramatically over the next 10 years and our style of chaplaincy will change with those needs.
We are currently asking the question "What makes a good Community and what is the contribution faith communities make to a good community?" and we held a Consultative Conference last year after which we wrote a draft paper which forms part of our conference report.
